Springtime in Big Sur and the Monterey Peninsula
7th Annual Wildflowers, Misty Fog and Headland Color Photo Workshop
April 14-17, 2014
Springtime in Big Sur means green rolling hills, lush spring flowers, vivid yellow flowering coastal scrub, a hidden calla liliy grove, enticing sunsets, and misty sunrises. Join me as I will guide you through this coastal paradise. Journey through a land of towering redwoods, fresh water waterfalls, hidden coves and arches and miles of the most dramatic shoreline you'll ever have the pleasure of photographing. Beauty is everywhere and you will experience Big Sur the way it was meant to be seen, uncrowded and dotted with enticing pockets of Pacific fog. We will begin this workshop on a Monday afternoon and end with a sunset shoot on Thursday evening. These dates will allow us to photograph without the weekend tourist crowds.
I have also placed this workshop to take advantage of peak season for wildflowers along the coast as well as the having an opportunity to photograph the flowering ice plant, sea daisies and chapparal that carpets the bluffs with vivid color!
My workshops place a heavy emphasis on the visual side of photography with location photography being the number one priority. I limit my groups to no more than (12) students and always have a qualified second instructor with us at all times. We spend our late mornings and afternoons concentrating on various software training (Lightroom/Photoshop and related plug-in filters) from workflow to specialized techniques geared towards optimizing your landscape images along with (2) image review sessions. The Photoshop training will include: basic workflow, Curves, color correction, sharpening, adjusment layers, masks, burning and dodging techniques and RAW conversion. We will also look at software from Nik and HDR processing with Photomatix Pro.
We will also be adding a night of photography taking advantage of this misty fog.
